A Special Visit to Salt Lake

Eric's sister decided to take her endowments out in the Salt Lake Temple on Feb 9th, it was fun to go to the temple with Eric's family. His sister Sarah and her family even came from Phoenix. That morning Eric and I got to pick them up from the airport and spend a little time with them and especially our niece Elizabeth who has gotten so big since the last time we have seen her. Anyway then we all went to the temple, which was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. It was also special for Eric and I since that is where we got married and we hadn't been back to the Salt Lake Temple since. After the temple we all went to lunch and then went back to MaryAnn's to visit before we had to take Sarah and Jeremy to meet Jeremy's family. While it was a short visit it was a very nice day.

Rexburg Temple Open House

We had a couple of chances to go to the Rexburg Temple open house, it is so gorgeous inside. The first time we went, we went with Emily and her family, it was alot of fun to see the kids reaction to all the woodwork and detailing inside. The second time we went with Eric's parents and some of their friends. It was fun to go through again to see things we had missed before and pay more attention to the little details. It was also fun for us becuase we went to the ground breaking and have watched to progress of the temple as it has been built and to see it finished is exciting. Eric's mom took this picture from the parking lot after we came out. As you can see it was a little bit of a rough night, but it was worth braving the storm.

Old Man Winter is Here to Stay!!

This winter we have really got pounded with snow. While it is starting to melt, it is disappearing very slowly. While Eric has tried to sell trusses in Driggs as you can see by the pictures there is to much snow to build, while its beautiful and much needed we are ready for spring.

Valentine's Day!!

While some may say romance begins to fade the longer you have been married, I would say it only fades if you let it. We decided to stay in and I would make Eric's favorite dinner, steak and shrimp. Eric said he would be in charge of dessert so I was definitely wondering if we would be having oreos and pop (we don't like milk.) But to my surprise when I opened the door I found a dessert and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. As for me I was out done this year, I only brought Eric a movie and some Valentine snickers. We had a great evening and hope to continue the tradition of wonderful Valentine's for years and years to come. Just in case you were wondering about the cake was as good as it looked, it had 3 layers of rasberry jam in the middle of moist white cake and yummy frosting.

Jeremy's Birthday!!

I had a wonderful birthday this year!! This year I finally met someone that shared by birthday, her name is Kathy and she and I share a office space at my work. When I got to work my student assistant had decorated our office with balloons and candy, a nice surprise. Eric came and took me to lunch at Applebee's which was delicious. Then I came home and my parents came and stayed with us. They brought a giant delicous cake and took us out to dinner at Chili's (my choice) and that was delicous also. They also surprised me by bringing my gift from Eric and my dad a set of golf clubs just for me. It will be fun to be able to hit the linx with Eric and hopefully sometimes with my dad. The next day Eric's parents stopped by and brought me a roasting pan and some birthday money, it was very nice. Then later that evening Emily and her family came and we had pizza and more birthday cake. It was a wonderful birthday, family and friends really make a birthday special.

Santa Was Good To Us This Year!!

After getting into the Christmas spirit at temple square we were ready for Christmas. Along with the excitement to see what Santa brought, we were both ready for some rest and relaxation. Even though I had started a new job I still had collected enough time to take between Christmas and New Year's off with Eric. We spent Christmas with my family in Salt Lake, it was fun. This year seemed to be about tricks. I stuffed a box full of shoes to try to throw Eric off, since I thought he had a inkling I was getting him golf clubs. He also had a trick up his sleeve and had his parents deliver my kitchen aid earlier in the season so I wouldn't see the box on the trip down. Then he wrapped a box the same size box and put the candle warmer, a cutting board, and a set of Rachel Ray knives in it, which was a great surprise but I thought I was getting a kitchen aid. But then after all the presents were unwrapped he said I think there might be one more present and he brought the kitchen aid. It was a wonderful Christmas everyone was very generous and it was wonderful to spend time playing and relaxing with my family.

Our Annual Trip to Temple Square

Many of you know that SLC temple square is a very special place for Eric and I since we got engaged there. So each year we try to go back and enjoy the beautiful sights. This year we met my friend Emily and her family there. While finding a parking spot was very difficult and we ended up walking almost a mile to temple square it was worth the walk. We all had a great time. Afterwards we went back to my parents and had hot chocolate and nachos a perfect combination on a cold night. My dad got the kids presents, which was really sweet and the kids loved them.

Look What Eric Did

Eric took a picture of some of his trusses as they were being delivered. It still amazes me this pile of wood is now ready to go on a house because of my husband and his great talent.

You never know what you will pull up behind!!

This is what we drove behind through Flagstaff its a mountain town in Arizona. In case you can't tell thats a dead elk!

Time to Go Home!!

While we were enjoying spending time with family and the beautiful weather, it was time to head home. I was kind of dreading it. While it is a beautiful drive, 12 hours in the car is a long time. But one thing before we headed home I had to have a picture with one of those big cactus's they are super cool! After our cactus picture we decided to break the trip up by stopping and taking lots of other pictures.

We love our Niece!!

While we loved visiting family and spending time in warm Arizona one of the highlights was spending time with Elizabeth she is so cute and such a good baby!!

Thanksgiving Day!!

For Thanksgiving day we decided to head down to Tuscon to visit more of Eric's family and have some turkey. Eric's parents were also at Sarah's so it was fun for everyone to be together and meet some of Eric's family that I had never met before. But I must say the most memorable part of Thanksgiving was eating dinner outside actually hot!! It was kind of wierd. After dinner Eric went shooting with the guys and I played games with the girls, it was way fun.

My First Trip to Arizona!!

For Thanksgiving this year we decided to head to Arizona to visit Eric's sister, her husband and our niece Elizabeth. While it would of been nice to fly we decided to save some money and car pool with Eric's sister MaryAnn. MaryAnn was gracious enough to take her new car so we didn't have to take one of our old clunkers. Anyway what a drive! We were all enjoying the drive down and the increase in temperature until we got into Phoenix traffic, which I must say if I never experience again it will be to soon. But just a mere hour and a half later we were at Sarah's. That night we had some dinner and visited boy were we glad to get out of the car. But while were in the car we did see some beautiful sights.

Eric Loves to Take Pictures

Now Eric is a Truss Salesmen he spends alot of time on the road, since his two areas are Pocatello and Driggs. While he enjoys traveling to Pocatello, everytime he goes to Drigss he can't help but stop and enjoy his favorite view the tetons. I thought it would be fun to share his view with you.

I GOT A JOB!!!

Who would of thought after over a year of dillegently looking, I finally found a job. While it was a long wait this job is an awesome fit. I am working at the BYU-Idaho Alumni Relations Office as an event coordinator, which is so much fun. I have been there since the middle of October and love every minute of it. It is nice to settle into regular hours and paid holidays, I love the people I work with they are all really nice, it is actually a really relaxed atmosphere, which is a definite change from a newsroom. So far I have coordinated a graduation banquet for over a thousand, to cap and gown pick up for the same number, as well as a grad fair for students who are getting ready to graduate. While it may seem these are simple tasks, you wouldn't believe the details that go into these events. But I love it!

Where Have We Been?
